Ammonium Sulfate / (NH4)2SO4 – TEMA Process Fluid Bed Dryer
Ammonium Sulfate (Ammonium sulphate, (NH4)2SO4), is an inorganic salt with a number of commercial uses. The most common use is as a soil fertilizer. Ammonium sulfate crystals are formed by circulating the ammonium sulfate liquor through a water evaporator, which thickens the solution. Ammonium sulfate crystals are separated from the liquor in a centrifuge. The crystals, which contain about 2.5 percent moisture by weight after the centrifuge, are fed to the TEMA Process Fluid Bed dryer. The TEMA Fluid Bed Dryers are steam or gas heated dryers. The fluid bed dryers are ideally suited to multi-zone operation with drying and cooling taking place in the same unit with air recycle for energy saving. The dust collection (from the fluid bed) can be done by cyclones in combination with a Jet bag Filter or cyclones in combination with a Packed Tower Wet Scrubber.
